This website is a commemorative and informational resource about the Kanani Conference Rooms at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry. Its purpose is to preserve a historical record, explain the educational context of the rooms and present related dental-education material responsibly.

What this website is

The site is an independent historical and educational resource. It is not operated by the University of British Columbia and does not manage room bookings, access, equipment, room capacity or university policy. When current information matters, visitors should confirm directly with the UBC Faculty of Dentistry.

Historical claims are grounded first in primary or near-primary sources, including the original 2011 UBC Dentistry feature, UBC publication material, dedication photographs and visible plaque or room signage. The website distinguishes between the original dedication record and the present-day family story. That distinction is especially important for family members who are part of the continuing legacy but were not part of the original 2011 decision or ceremony record.
